EUR 300,000 (without VAT) is the price which the town of Nitra invested in the renovation of the FC Nitra
training football pitch. The renovation included the removal of the former artificial turf, which no longer met the required quality standards, and also the removal of the aggregate base underneath. New aggregate was supplied for the base, which was then covered with a 20 mm deep rubber mat, followed by the installation of the latest type of a 40 mm high artificial turf. The artificial turf itself was finished off with a silica sand infill and black-brown EPDM crumb rubber.
ViOn, a.s. installed the base layer, with the rubber mat being supplied by our sister company RPG Recycling, s.r.o. (prolinkovat). The top layer was installed by SPORT NITRA s.r.o., with Assco, s.r.o. being the supplier of the EPDM crumb rubber.
The whole renovation took 3 months. With the tender taking place in May and the base layer being installed in June, the renovation was finished in August. Due to good weather conditions, the whole renovation went to plan and the day after it was completed, FC NITRA U16 youth category played their first championship match. Nitra won 7:0.
